Man Stabbed in Downtown Apartment, Dies

 

Los Angeles: On Sunday afternoon, a resident of a downtown apartment was stabbed to death and another resident was arrested in the crime.

John Anthony Soto, 28 years old, led officers to the victim an apartment at 1330 South Olive Street, where they found a 39-year-old man lying on the floor. He had been stabbed once in the side. The unidentified man died about a half hour later at California Hospital.

Detectives arrested, Mr. Soto, the man who had led officers to the victim, after evidence pointed to Soto's involvement. The motive for the stabbing was not released by detectives.

The victim's identity was withheld pending notification of his family.
