Singer's Son Arrested for Murder

Los Angeles: The son of singer Chaka Khan, Damien Holland, 25 years old, surrendered to police today and will face murder charges stemming from a confrontation with a 17-year-old youth on September 24, 2004.

Today, February 28, 2005, Holland walked into the Pacific Area Police Station in Venice with his attorneys after he learned the District Attorney's office had filed one count of murder against Holland in the death of Chris Bailey.

Bailey was shot with a rifle after an argument in Holland's home. Holland was arrested for the murder that same day, but was released two days later when charges had not been filed pending further investigation.

Detectives located witnesses to the murder, which led to the district attorney filing charges.

Holland is currently being held at the Pacific Police Station jail with a $2 million bail.
