Community Police Advisory Board Meeting
January 16, 2014 Minutes
Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by Sergeant Catherine Plows. Sergeant Plows welcomed to Harbor our new Patrol Commanding Officer Captain Gerald Woodyard.
He is in charge of all Crime reduction that we have here. He said he has been here four months now and looks forward to partnering with C PAB for Crime reduction for 2014.
Captain Woodyard said he has 19 years in the department, married 20 years and has three children.
Captain Nancy Lauer discussed with Captain Woodyard about Robberies on Gaffey Street. Captain Woodyard responded with there had been 6 robberies in the third week of December. We meet on a daily basis, we redeployed our resources and the crime went down to one. That area in San Pedro is their worst reporting area in the district in this Division and there will be a special focus on all year in addition to the other areas. Captain Lauer said our crime is down in every category.
Senior Lead Updates: Officer Eve Wight has been promoted to Senior Lead Officer for South Shores. Scam knocking on doors asking for money. Robbery 25th and Western Ave. 711 store persons in custody. Officer Adriana Bravo San Pedro gave her report on Gaffey and 5th Street, alcohol being sold 24 hours a day at Rite aid. Officer Brian Cook made Sergeant and was transferred WLA. Senior Lead Officer Ria Garcenila is Harbor Gateway. SLO Arthur Ashcraft is now Harbor City, SLO Andrey Wilkins San Pedro, SLO Shawn Crabbe Wilmington, SLO Roger Perez Wilmington, SLO Jr Nua Wilmington.
