Community Police Advisory Board Meeting
Harbor Station – 2175 John S Gibson Blvd., San Pedro
March 15, 2013 Minutes



Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by Sergeant Julie McInnis.
She spoke about new Community Police Academy coming up at Harbor City Recreation Center, 24901 Frampton Ave. Harbor City, 90710.

LAPD Cadets & Jr. Cadets youth program.  Cadets, meet every Wednesday 6:00 pm ages 13-20 Jr Cadets meet every Tuesday at 6:00 pm ages 8-12.

Sergeant Julie gave crime updates

Pan Panagiotou, Deputy of Los Angeles spoke on Dispute Resolution was at our February meeting I was asked if information he gave could be reprinted in the March minutes. He said it’s fair, it’s quick and it’s free. Mediation is a confidential, Voluntary process in which a neutral third party facilitates communication between people to resolve their disputes.  Any Los Angeles county resident, or person who has conducted business in our community, who is involved in a dispute can go to mediation.  Main office Los Angeles City Attorney’s office. 222 So. Hill Street, 6th floor.  Los Angeles, CA 90012

Senior Lead Officers did a demonstration on equipment and weapons that can be carried on them or in their cars.  Without firing weapons, they demonstrated how the weapons are used and the different types of equipment and how they are taken apart.  They answered all our questions which were numerous.
