$50,000 Reward Offered for Unsolved Hollenbeck Murder

Why:
On August 18, 2007, at 3:15 p.m., 24-year-old Jesus Guevara, a Navy reservist, was walking from a liquor store at 3327 N. Eastern Ave. As he was approaching his parked car, the suspect approached in a dark colored mid-sized car driving north bound on Eastern Avenue. The driver of the suspect vehicle stopped and yelled, “Hey!” towards Guevara then fired several rounds striking the victim one time in the back. The suspect continued northbound Eastern Avenue to eastbound Navarro.

Guevara was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead on August 18, 2007 at 6:04 p.m.

LAPD’s Hollenbeck Division and 14th District Los Angeles City Councilmember Jose Huizar will announce his sponsorship of a $50,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
