Commander David J. Kalish Wins Humanitarian Award

On Friday, December 3, 1999, at 8:00 am, Commander David J. Kalish, Commanding Officer of LAPD Community Affairs Group, received the Sheriff Sherman Block Maccabean Award of Honor. It was presented by the Honorable Mrs. Sherman Block at services celebrating the first night of Hanukkah at the Adot Shalom Temple. Commander Kalish was chosen to receive this Humanitarian Award because of his active involvement in a myriad of community organizations. Commander Kalish is described as, "an individual who proactively builds social capital among the various communities comprising the City of Los Angeles."
