Friends and Family of Hit & Run fatal victim Milton Augusto Lopez will be attending and available for interviews and to ask the public for help in this case.
Valley Traffic Division is currently conducting an investigation into the hit and run fatality involving a vehicle and a pedestrian, which occurred on December 18, 1999, at approximately 8:40 P.M., on DeSoto Avenue north of Chase Street. An unknown vehicle traveling northbound on DeSoto Avenue from Chase Street, struck Milton Augusto Lopez as he crossed the street. The vehicle continued northbound with Mr. Lopez attached to the front of the vehicle. The vehicle collided with a parked vehicle located on the east side of the street. Mr. Lopez was trapped between the two vehicles when the collision occurred. Mr. Lopez died at the scene of massive head injuries.
The Los Angeles Police Department is seeking the assistance of the community at the above-referenced press conference and will be asking any persons with information or witnesses to contact Detective Weaver, Valley Traffic Division at 818-756-8391.
