"Public’s Assistance Needed in Gang Murder"

Los Angeles: Pacific Area Homicide Unit detectives have been investigating the murder of 24 year-old Shaun Joseph Donahue, which occurred in front of 517 Indiana Avenue on December 13, 2002, at approximately 11:40 p.m. Donahue and a friend were driving in the 500 block of Indiana Avenue when several male Black gang members approached and shouted a gang challenge at them. One of the suspects fired several rounds at the victims as they were driving away.

One round struck Donahue and one other round struck his friend. Donahue was transported to a local hospital where he later died as a result of his wounds. His friend was treated and released.

The detectives have requested a reward for the arrest and conviction of the suspects who are responsible for this murder. A $25,000.00 reward is being proposed by Councilperson Miscikowski at the City Council for approval and is pending.

A photograph of the victim will be available during the press conference.
