Northeast Homicide Detectives Investigate Shooting Death
Los Angeles: Northeast Area Homicide Detectives are investigating
the murder of 21 year-old Frankie Barrajas of Los Angeles. On January 14,
2003, at approximately 1:28 a.m., LAPD Northeast Area patrol officers
responded to a radio call of an "Ambulance shooting" in the 300 block
of Leslie Way. Arriving at the location, officers discovered two male
Hispanics suffering from gunshot wounds. Barrajas, shot in the upper torso,
was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:35
a.m. by attending physicians. In addition, a 20 year-old unidentified male,
also shot at the scene, was transferred to a local hospital where he is
expected to survive his injuries.
No suspects are in custody and no weapons were recovered.
