DUI Saturation Patrols on Super Bowl Sunday
When:
Sunday, February 1, 2009
4:00 p.m. to Midnight
Where:
Rampart Area Communities
Who:
Central Traffic Division’s DUI Enforcement Detail Officers
Why:
The purpose of the DUI saturation patrols is to reduce the number of traffic collisions involving intoxicated drivers, as well as the number of hit-and-run traffic collisions. The Los Angeles Police Department seeks to achieve these goals through enforcement and public awareness.
These DUI saturation patrols are being deployed in response to expected Super Bowl Sunday festivities, which often involve consumption of alcoholic beverages. Officers will target the Rampart Area of the City of Los Angeles.
Funding for these DUI saturation patrols comes from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. We can all help make our streets safer. Report Drunk Drivers – Call 9-1-1.
