"Victim Dies in a Traffic Collision and Has Not Been Identified"

Los Angeles - On July 20, 2000 at approximately 3:27 a.m., uniformed officers assigned to West Traffic Division responded to a reported traffic collision at the intersection of Jefferson BL and Centinela Ave. The officer's preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle-1 (solo vehicle) had collided with a power pole and fire hydrant. The driver (P-1) of vehicle-1, a late model compact SUV, has not been identified. The victim, P-1 died at the scene and two passengers were transported to UCLA Medical Center with moderate injuries due to the traffic collision.

There were no other vehicles involved and speed appears to be the primary cause of the traffic collision.
