Los Angeles: A lone gunman wanted for the shooting of two clerks and three robberies has been captured by Los Angeles Police Officers.

On June 15, 2015, a lone Black gunman walked into a gas station on the 3200 block of 54th Street in Los Angeles and demanded money. The next two consecutive days, June 16th and 17th, it is believed the same gunman committed additional robberies that also involved the shooting of two business clerks. On June 17, 2015, a male Black robbed a gas station at the intersection of Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Avenue and during the robbery, a clerk was shot.

In all three robberies, the suspect used a handgun, demanded money and fled the scene in a silver SUV with paper plates. The robberies occurred within a short distance of each other and in the second and third robbery, both clerks were shot but survived their injuries following surgery.

Following the violent incidents, LAPD 77th Area Robbery Detectives began to canvas for surveillance video for images that would identify the suspect and his vehicle.

On June 17, 2015, LAPD Metropolitan Officers spotted an SUV that matched the suspect's vehicle and detained a 55- year-old male resident of Los Angeles. A subsequent investigation led to Jeffrey Miles being arrested for Attempted Murder and the case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
