High School Stabbing Death

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Tuesday, March 21, 2000

"High School Stabbing Death"

Hollywood - On Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Hollywood Patrol officers responded to a call of a stabbing at 7795 Rosewood Avenue, outside of the Walt Whitman Continuation High School. Upon arrival, the officers discovered a male, 17 years of age, who had sustained what appeared to be several stab wounds.

A Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue Ambulance responded and transported the victim to Cedars Sinai Hospital where the victim subsequently expired from his wounds.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.

The victim apparently had a previous dispute with members of a rival tagging crew and this attack may have been an effort at retaliation. Detectives are currently interviewing possible witnesses in an attempt to identify the suspects.

Hollywood Homicide Detectives are handling the investigation. For further information, please contact Detective Grace Torres, Hollywood Homicide at 213-485-6410.
