Drive-by Shooting Claims Victim in South Central

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Friday, March 17, 2000


Los Angeles - On Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at 10:20 p.m., the victim, Anthony Bernard Smith, 20 years old, was exiting his residence at the 700 block of East 116th Place, when unknown suspect(s) shot him with an assault type rifle. The suspect(s) then fled the scene northbound in a 4-door, black, newer model vehicle. Smith was transported to an area hospital where he expired due to his injuries.
