Man Shot and Killed in Gang Related Shooting

 

Los Angeles: A 25 year-old Hispanic man was found lifeless on the sidewalk in the 1800 block of West 11th Place.

On March 29, 2005, at 9:10 PM, the victim was walking on the sidewalk when a black pickup truck driving eastbound on 11th Place stopped alongside of him. A gunman got out of the vehicle, confronted him and shot him in the upper body area. He died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle is describe as a male Hispanic wearing a white sweatshirt and the gunman is also Hispanic, black hair, 27 to 28 years-old. A second vehicle was seen driving away from the scene. LAPD Rampart Detectives described that vehicle as a burgundy Nissan Maxima.

The shooting appears to be gang related. The weapon and the suspects are still outstanding.

The identity of the victim is being withheld until his family has been notified.
