Chief Bratton will announce the start of classes for the LAPD's
National Counter-Terrorism Academy (NCTA) initiative

The proceedings will focus on two main topics:

•Overview of National Counter-Terrorism Academy (NCTA) pilot program for state and local law enforcement – a public-private partnership that will bring world-class training to mid-level public safety professionals

•Discussion of Hydra, a high-tech training tool designed in the UK that the LAPD is in the process of acquiring; the LAPD will be the first law enforcement agency in the U.S. to have Hydra and will join 32 other installations throughout the world
