Students Arrested for Vandalism NR16101dm

Pacific Palisades: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department's West Los Angeles Area are seeking information involving students spray-painting racist slogans at Palisades Charter High School.

On March 13, 2016, around 6:00 a.m., West LA Division patrol officers responded to Palisades Charter High School after a staff member discovered racist graffiti on the campus. The suspects defaced the school's iconic mural, as well as a bus stop, the sidewalk and several trees with spray paint.

Working with officers from the Los Angeles School Police Department and Palisades High's administration, detectives conducted an extensive series of interviews, leading to the detention of two juvenile subjects connected to the vandalism. One was cited for vandalism and released to his parents. The other was cited for conspiracy to commit vandalism and released to his parents. Both of the subjects are current students at Palisades Charter High School.

The investigation is on-going and has revealed no credible threats or danger to students or the community.
