Los Angeles Police Foundation Grants $105,000.00 to LAPD Youth and Crime Prevention Programs
The Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Police Foundation, accompanied by Founding Members Chief Bernard C. Parks and his wife, Bobbie, will be hosting a press conference to announce the presentation of grants. The grants, totaling $105,000.00, will be made to entities within the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). The press conference will be held in the Parker Center Auditorium on Monday, May 22, 2000, at 11:30 A.M. The grants, made by the Foundation, will provide funding for critical programs not provided for in the City's budget.
Juvenile Division will be awarded with $100,000 for intervention youth programs and for the notable Explorer Scouts program and $5,000 will be granted to the LAPD's Community Relations Section for the production of crime prevention programs and literature.
