LAPD/Community Interfaith Day of Prayer Service

Wednesday, May 17, 2000


Los Angeles - The Chief's Religious Forum is sponsoring a LAPD/Community Interfaith Day of Prayer Service on Sunday, May 21, 2000 at 5:00 p.m., at Saint Paul's Episcopal Cathedral, 840 Echo Park Avenue in Los Angeles. The service will be highlighted by the attendance of Chief Bernard C. Parks, police officers with their families, and community members of various religious faiths. Department Chaplains and interfaith clergy representatives will respond from throughout the City.

The LAPD/Community Interfaith Day of Prayer will celebrate and acknowledge the commitment to public service of men and women of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Through hymns, spiritual readings and verbal reflections, thanksgiving prayers will be offered for officers and their families. The general public is invited to attend the service and provide support for the Los Angeles Police Department.
