Newborn Infant Found in Dumpster

"Newborn Infant Found in Dumpster"

Los Angeles - On Thursday, May 18, 2000, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Hollenbeck Area Patrol officers responded to the 3100 block of Wynwood Lane, in the City of Los Angeles. A newborn infant was found in a dumpster by an individual checking for recyclables. The infant was transported via rescue ambulance to a local hospital, where the infant remains in critical condition. The infant is described as a male, possibly Hispanic. The Abused Child Unit of the Los Angeles Police Department is currently handling the investigation.

The Abused Child Unit is seeking the public's help in this matter. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact Detective Beardsley, of the Abused Child Unit, at 213-485-6421.
