Armed and Dangerous Murder Suspect On the Loose

 

Los Angeles: On Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at approximately 9:05 a.m., Suspect Darnell Cooper confronted and shot Victim Darrell Miller (33 years of age, a resident of Los Angeles) to death. The incident occurred in the 5600 block of Smiley Drive.

After the shooting, the suspect confronted a second victim and took his vehicle at gunpoint. The suspect was last seen in the second victim's vehicle, a 1993 Toyota Altima, 4-door, green, California license plate 3PZH855, westbound on Smiley Drive toward La Cienega Boulevard.

The motive appears to be gang related.

The suspect is a 38 year-old male Black, 5' 9", 200 lbs. and resides in the vicinity of the crime scene. He is considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Cooper's photograph is available with the Watch Commander of Southwest Area Police Station, 1546 West Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Los Angeles.
