"Pedestrian Shot and Killed While Standing Outside Residential Area"

Los Angeles: On November 17, 2002, at 2:20 A.M., victim Juan Valenzuela, a 28 year old male Hispanic, was shot and killed in the 5000 block of South Compton Avenue. As the victim was standing outside in a residential area with a group of pedestrians, two male Hispanic suspects, driving a gray 2-door vehicle, shot the victim. The victim was transported to USCMC Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspects have been described as male Hispanics, 20-30 years of age. There is no further description on the suspects or the suspects’ vehicle at this time. The shooting appears to be gang-related.
