Tuesday, November 14, 2000



"Apparent Robbery Results in Homicide of Security Officer"

Los Angeles - On Monday, November 13, 2000, at approximately 7:30 P.M., a 56-year-old security guard, (name withheld pending notification of next of kin), was shot and killed in front of 531 E. 67th Street. The victim was standing in front of the location when he was approached by the suspect who fired multiple times, striking the victim twice in the upper torso. The suspect removed the victim's 9mm semi-automatic pistol from his holster and fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a male Black 20/25 years old and was last seen westbound on 67th Street.

The motive appears to be robbery of the victim's weapon.
