Rampart Detectives Investigate the Shooting Death of a 16 Year-Old Male


"Rampart Detectives Investigate the Shooting Death of a 16-year- old Male Hispanic"

 

Los Angeles: On Sunday, November 18, 2001 at approximately 7:00 p.m., a 16-year-old male Hispanic became the victim of a drive by shooting while standing on the 1200 block of Colton Street. The young victim was struck in the upper torso and fell to the ground. He was transported to USC Medical Center by paramedics where he failed to respond to treatment and was pronounced dead.

The preliminary investigation revealed witnesses heard gunshots and observed a white Toyota Forerunner driving westbound from the location. The suspect was described as a male. No further description is available at this time.

The motive for the shooting is unknown and there are no suspects in custody.
