Officer-Involved Shooting Investigatio

"Officer-Involved Shooting Investigation"

Los Angeles : O n Wednesday, November 24, 2004 , at approximately 6:05 a.m. , Police Officer Marc Reed, 14 years and six months with the Department, and Police Officer Landon Dorris, one year and four months with the Department, assigned to Newton Patrol Division, were off duty, in plain clothes, and traveling southbound on Central Avenue near 28 th Street .

Officer Reed was driving his personally owned vehicle and Officer Dorris was the passenger. Officers Reed and Dorris observed a vehicle also traveling on Central Avenue . The officers perceived that the driver of the other vehicle was pointing a handgun at them and an officer involved shooting ensued.

There were no injuries as a result of the shooting and no suspects are outstanding.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Force Investigation Division Detectives are conducting the investigation.
