Detectives Investigate a Shooting Related Death

Los Angeles: On Friday, November 4, 2005, at about 11:42 p.m., LAPD officers responded to a radio call of shots fired at the 5900 block of Barton Avenue. Upon their arrival, the officers found the victim of a gunshot wound lying on the sidewalk.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was standing on the sidewalk and two suspects drove up to the location and stopped. As the victim and the driver were engaged in conversation, the passenger exited the vehicle and shot the victim multiple times.

Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported the victim to Cedars Sinai Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The suspects are outstanding and are being described as two male Hispanics, 20 – 21 years of age and having shaved heads. The vehicle is described as a mid 1990's, tan, possible Ford Explorer. The motive for this shooting appears to be gang related.

The identification of the victim is pending notification of relatives.
