Man Found Shot on Sidewalk NR11515ne

Los Angeles:  The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Foothill Area detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person or persons responsible for the shooting death of a Pacoima resident.

On Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at around 10:50 p.m., officers working Foothill Patrol responded to a radio call of an ‘Assault with Deadly Weapon’ (ADW) with shots fired in the area of Remick Avenue and Louvre Street.  Officers and paramedics located a male Hispanic victim down with multiple gunshot wounds on the sidewalk.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.  Detectives identified the victim as 27-year-old, Luis Enrique Silva of Pacoima.  Silva was shot by an unknown person(s) as he was returning to his home from a local store.

The motive for the shooting is unknown.  The suspect(s) is unknown and the weapon is outstanding.  There is no evidence of gang involvement at this time.

Anyone with information on this crime, or who can help identify the suspects, is asked to call LAPD’s Foothill Detectives, Detective Martinez or Gahryat at 818-834-3115.  During non-business hours or weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (1-877-527-3247).  Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (1-800-222-8477).
