LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
OCTOBER 26, 1998

On Sunday, October 25,1998 at approximately 6:19 p.m., the suspect and victim were involved in a verbal dispute inside their apartment at 344 East Imperial Highway, Los Angeles. At the time, the victim was holding one of her minor children. The suspect was armed with a semi auto pistol. The suspect shot the victim fatally wounding her. The suspect fled on foot from the scene after the shooting. The motive for this incident appears to Domestic Violence related. The victim is identified as Lashawn A. Goodlow, 20 years of age. The suspect is identified as Vernon Ray Turner, described as a male, black, 34 years of age. Turner is outstanding and he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Los Angeles Police Department, South Bureau Homicide Detectives Dan Myers and Steve Burciaga are conducting the investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident or the whereabouts of Vernon Ray Turner, may contact Detectives Myers and Burciaga at (213) 237-1310.
