Victim Shot and Killed in Alley

Thursday, October 14, 1999
On Wednesday afternoon, October 13, 1999, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a shooting occurred in the parking lot in the 25000 block of South Western Avenue. The victim, Ernesto Prieto Rubio Jr., a male Hispanic, 22 years old, was walking westbound in the alley approaching the parking lot. The suspect appeared at the mouth of the alley and shot the victim. The suspect jumped in to a small white, compact vehicle and left eastbound in the alley.
The victim ran southbound in the parking lot and collapsed. Paramedics were called to the scene and transported the victim to Harbor UCLA Medical Center. He succumb to multiple gun shot wounds and death was pronounced at 4:03 p.m..
The suspects are described as two, male, Hispanics, no further information. The motive for the shooting is unknown.
