Victim Found Dead From Gunshot Wound Inside Taxi Cab

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Tuesday, October 5, 1999

On Sunday, October 3,1999 at 1:25 a.m., Newton Patrol officers observed a taxi cab parked southbound at the west curb at 2900 block of South Compton Avenue with the lights on, the passenger door open and the driver seated behind the steering wheel. They stopped to investigate and found the driver, 25 year old, Enrique Espinoza, dead from a gunshot wound.

The motive is unknown at this time.

The firearm(s) and suspect(s) involved in this shooting are still outstanding. The Los Angeles Police Department is seeking assistance from the community.

Newton Area Detectives R. Flores and A. Caballero are handling the investigation. Any witness or others with any information, may call Newton Homicide Detectives at 323-846-6559.
