Victims With Gunshot Wounds Discovered on the Balcony of An Apartment Complex

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Tuesday, October 26, 1999

On Monday, October 25, 1999, at 10:45 P.M., North Hollywood Patrol officers responded to an "Ambulance Shots Fired" radio call in the 13000 block of Vanowen Street. Upon arrival officers discovered two victims lying on the second story balcony of the apartment complex.

Fire Department rescue ambulance pronounced one victim, a 16-19 year old male Hispanic dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso. The second victim, a 22-year-old male Hispanic from North Hollywood was transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his right leg. Subsequent investigation revealed that unknown suspect(s) fired multiple gunshots at the victims for no apparent reason. A motive for this shooting has not been determined and victim one has not been identified.
