Sunday, October 29, 2000



"Homicide Investigation"

Venice - On October 28, 2000, at approximately 11:30 PM, Pacific Area uniformed officers responded to a "Shots Fired" call at 96th Street and Belford Avenue. Upon arrival officers saw a male victim, who had been shot while seated inside his parked vehicle. Responding paramedics pronounced the victim dead at scene. The victim was identified as 19 year-old, Dain S. Houston, a resident of Redondo Beach.

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect was described as a male, wearing a hooded sweat-shirt. The suspect fled on foot after the shooting. The motive for this crime appears to by robbery.

Homicide Detectives from Pacific Support Division are conducting the investigation. Any one with information that may assist in this investigation is urged to call 310-202-4502.
