"LAPD Seeks Public's Assistance in Locating Missing 90 Year-Old Man"

Los Feliz: The family of Roy M. McConnell and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) request the public’s assistance in locating Mr. McConnell.

Mr. Roy M. McConnell was last seen on Thursday, October 11, 2001, at approximately 2:00 p.m. at his apartment. Mrs. McConnell was asleep and when she woke up, she noticed that her husband was gone from their apartment. Mr. And Mrs. McConnell reside on the 4600 block of Los Feliz Boulevard in the City of Los Angeles.

Mr. McConnell has no identification or money and he suffers from Alzheimer’s. He takes medication for hypertension and has a history of heart problems.

Mr. McConnell is described as a 90 year old male Caucasian, balding with gray hair, scruffy gray/black beard, blue eyes, 5’7" and weighs approximately 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing purple sweatpants, a green and white shirt and no shoes.

Please refer any information to Detectives Bruce Kuehl and Ben Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department Missing Persons Unit at 213-485-5381. A photo of Mr. McConnell is available at the LAPD Media Relations Office.

Missing person’s family consists only of his elderly 92 year-old wife who has declined to conduct any interviews.

UPDATE

LAPD Detectives located Mr. McConnell from a local hospital on October 16, 2001 in good condition.
