76-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Traffic Collision

Los Angeles – On October 12, 2005, at approximately 6:20 AM, a fatal traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Vermont Avenue and 3rd Street in Koreatown.

76-year-old Henry Choi, a resident of Los Angeles, was walking across Vermont Avenue at 3rd Street when he was struck by a silver 1993 Mercury Topaz that was being driven by 64-year-old Jose Aguilar, a resident of Los Angeles, as he traveled northbound on Vermont Avenue.

Mr. Choi received extensive blunt force trauma injuries and was transported by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics to the University of Southern California Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

Aguilar was determined to be under the influence of an intoxicant and was arrested for Murder.  He is being held on a $1,000,000 bail.
