LAPD Academy Graduation of 44 New Officers and 4 Reserve Officers

What:
LAPD Academy Graduation of 44 New Officers and 4 Reserve Officers

When:
Friday, October 14, 2005, 9:00 AM

Where:
LAPD Academy
1880 North Academy Drive, Elysian Park

Who:
First Assistant Chief Jim McDonnell
Representatives from the Mayor’s Office and the Board of Commissioners
Police Department Command Staff and their special guests

Why:
Graduating officers have completed 1,035 hours of training over the course of 32 weeks. There are 34 males and 10 females in the class.

Four graduating reserve officers have completed 228 hours of training over the course of 21 weeks.

Additionally, one male lateral officer will graduate with the regular recruit class. He is an experienced peace officer who have joined the LAPD after serving with other California law enforcement agency and completed a two-month lateral officer academy.
