Los Angeles:  Los Angeles Police Department’s Juvenile Division is investigating the shooting of two children on the 7200 Block of Gramercy Place.

On Saturday, October 17, 2009, at around 8:30 a.m., Officers from 77th Area responded to a 9-1-1 call at the location with information alleging that the mother of two children shot them inside the residence.  Once at the location, Officers encounter the mother, Latonya Dixon, still in possession of a hand gun.  After several commands to drop the weapon, Dixon did so, and was taken into custody without incident.  Officers entered the apartment and located the injured children.  Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported the children to local hospitals.  One of the children died from his injuries and the other is on life support at the time of this Release.  Detectives from Juvenile Division responded to the scene and assumed investigative responsibility for the incident.  Detectives from South Bureau Homicide partnered in support of Juvenile Division’s investigation.

Latonya Dixon was booked for murder, and Juvenile Division is working with the District Attorney’s office to prepare a case for court. Dixon’s bail is set for $1.02 million.
