Hit and Run Leaves Man Dead


Los Angeles: On Monday, February 16, 2004, at about 5:40 a.m., a 75 year old Canoga Park resident was crossing Vanowen Street in between Independence Avenue and De Soto Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound Vanowen Street. The driver of the vehicle left the scene without stopping. Los Angeles Fire Department personnel pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

The vehicle involved in this collision is possibly a green van, which may have damage to the grill and the headlight.

The name of the deceased is being with pending notification to family members.
