Bio

Captain Tiffany Ayers is a Los Angeles native and an 18-year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), with extensive leadership experience across patrol, traffic, transit, internal affairs, and command operations.

Captain Ayers was promoted to Sergeant in 2015 and then to Lieutenant in 2021, serving in increasingly responsible supervisory and management assignments, including Watch Commander at Harbor Area and Adjutant to the Deputy Chief of Operations-Valley Bureau.

Promoted to Captain in 2024, she served as Patrol Commanding Officer at Harbor Area. In 2026, she was upgraded to Commanding Officer of South Traffic Division and then to Area Commanding Officer of Harbor Area.

In addition to her LAPD service, Captain Ayers also serves in the California Air National Guard where she holds the rank of Major.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education and a Master of Arts degree in Education. Prior to her law enforcement career, she worked as a certified athletic trainer at the high school, collegiate, and professional sports levels.

Captain Ayers is a graduate of the LAPD Leadership Program, California POST Management Course, and DC Police Leadership Academy. She holds Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Supervisory, and Management POST certificates and serves on the LAPD Peer Support Cadre.

Committed to leadership, mentorship, employee development, and community service, Captain Ayers serves as First Vice President of the Oscar Joel Bryant Foundation and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
