Bio

Captain Errin Burns-Johnson began her career in law enforcement as a Police Dispatcher with an outside agency in 2002. Pursuing her goal of becoming a Los Angeles Police Officer, Captain Burns-Johnson joined the Los Angeles Police Department in May 2005 where she discovered her calling.

During her career, Captain Burns-Johnson has worked several patrol and specialized assignments spanning the police officer, detective, and lieutenant ranks. In 2026, she was promoted to Patrol Commanding Officer at Northeast Division.

Captain Burns-Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration and a Master of Business Administration. She is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, the District of Columbia Police Leadership Program in Washington, DC, and the Los Angeles Police Leadership Academy.
