Captain Christine Stout-Guttilla began her career with the Los Angeles Police Department in 2003, following professional experience in both private and military sectors overseas. Upon graduating from the academy, she was assigned to Wilshire Area and subsequently served in a variety of assignments across the City, including patrol, Field Training Officer, Gang Enforcement Officer, Prostitution Enforcement Detail, Assistant Vice Coordinator, and the Professional Standards Bureau.
Promoted to Sergeant in 2015, Captain Stout served as a patrol supervisor in Hollywood Area and later as the Special Events Coordinator for Operations-West Bureau. As a Sergeant II, she continued to expand her leadership experience through assignments in Training Bureau, the Office of Operations, a Training Coordinator in Van Nuys Area, and as a Commander’s Aide for Operations-Valley Bureau.
In 2023, she was promoted to Lieutenant, where she served as a Patrol Watch Commander in North Hollywood Area and adjutant to the Director of the Office of Operations. Later upgrading to Lieutenant II to serve as the Officer-in-Charge of multiple units within the Office of Operations, gaining extensive operational and administrative experience. In 2026, she was promoted to Captain and currently serves as the Commanding Officer of West Valley Patrol Division.
Captain Stout holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master’s degree in Human Services, with a specialization in Social and Community Services. She is a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute, the LAPD Leadership Program, and the POST Management Course.
