The Forensic Science Division (FSD) collects, compares, and interprets physical evidence found at crime scenes or collected from suspects and victims, and provides expert testimony when needed. FSD is comprised of the following units:

Firearm Investigation Unit
Narcotics Analysis Unit
Serology/DNA Unit
Toxicology Unit
Trace Analysis Unit
Quality Assurance Unit
FSD is accredited as a Forensic Calibration and Testing Laboratory by ANAB (ANSI National Accreditation Board) using the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation standard and has been continuously accredited since 1998. FSD is accredited in Forensic Testing in the disciplines of Biology, Fire Debris and Explosives, Firearms and Toolmarks, Impressions, Materials-Trace, Scene Investigation, Toxicology, and Seized Drugs. FSD is accredited in Forensic Calibration for Toxicology.
