Early Morning Shooting Leaves One Dead

 

Los Angeles: On Sunday, April 7, 2002, at 3:05 a.m., patrol officers from the Los Angles Police Department, Hollywood Area, responded to a "Shots Fired" radio call at the Martini Bar located at 5657 Melrose Avenue. Upon arrival, the officers noted that the business was closed, but learned that friends had driven the victim from the location. A short time later officers were dispatched to 6537 Melrose Avenue where the victim was located.

Paramedics from the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to the location and treated the victim for gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Cedars Sinai Medical Center for emergency treatment but died during surgery. The victim has been identified as Mark Santos, a 21 year old resident of Burbank.
