Request for Public's Assistance in Identifying Robbery/Kidnap Suspects

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying two female Robbery/Kidnap suspects posing as bounty hunters.

On November 5, 2005, at about 6:00 p.m. the suspects walked up to the victim in the area of 1000 East Vernon Avenue and started a conversation with her, complimenting her appearance. They surrounded the victim and ordered her at gunpoint to follow their instruction or they would kill her.

The suspects walked the victim back to her home where they ransacked her apartment and stole her valuables. They drove the victim to her bank and forced the victim to withdraw $1,500 in cash. They then drove the victim to a nearby grocery store parking lot and ordered her to get out of the car. The two suspects drove away in a 4 door tan sedan.

Suspect #1 is a black woman between 40-50 years old. She is about 5'03 to 5'06 tall and weights between 160-180 pounds. Suspect #2 is described as a black woman with no further description. Both suspects were armed with unknown type handguns.

For photos of the suspect, please contact Media Relations at 213-485-3586.

Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to call Newton Area Detective Schueller at 323-846-6572. On weekends or off-hours, please call Newton Watch commander 323-846-6547 or 877-LAWFULL (529-3855).
