LAPD Captures Sexual Assault Suspect

Los Angeles: On Monday, August 20, 2001, at approximately 11:30 a.m., two female school teachers, age 21 and 22, were at 99th Street School preparing their classroom for the upcoming school year. A male Black suspect, approximately 20 years, 5'10", thin build, with a goatee, entered through an open door on his bicycle. The suspect pointed a handgun at the victims and demanded money. The suspect then sexually assaulted both victims and took their money and cell phones.

The suspect walked the victims out of the school toward a nearby ATM. As they passed a school employee, the victims were able to escape and the suspect fled the location.

On August 21, 2001, an extensive investigation by Robbery-Homicide Division detectives and Southwest Area personnel resulted in the arrest of 19 year old Antoine Marshal, a resident of Southeast Area of Los Angeles.

Marshal was booked at Southeast Jail for Felony Sex Offense and his bail has been set at one million dollars.

This information was received from Detectives Gregg Stone and Pamela Stirling of Robbery-Homicide Division, 213-763-5061.

This press release was prepared by Public Information Officer Jason Lee, Media Relations Section, 213-485-3586.
