Drive-By Shooting Leaves Man Dead On City Sidewalk

Los Angeles: On Saturday, August 9, 2003 at about 8:45 p.m., 33 year-old victim, Vincent Brown, was discovered shot to death in the 1600 block East 116th Street. The victim was apparently walking on the sidewalk when an unknown type vehicle drove alongside him. An unknown occupant from the vehicle fired at least one shot at the victim striking him in the upper torso. The victim collapsed in the street. There are no witnesses that have come forward regarding this shooting.
Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
The motive for the shooting appears to be gang-related and the identities of the suspects are unknown at this time.
