Shooting Kills Two Victims, Leaves One Uninjured

Los Angeles: On Sunday, August 8, 2004, at approximately 11:50 p.m., a shooting occurred in the 5800 block of Brynhurst Avenue. Herman Crenshaw III, a 30 year-old Black male, and Linda Lee Lovenburg, a 34 year-old White female, were driving on Brynhurst Avenue in a tan 1992 Toyota Camry, in close proximity to the 58th Street intersection. From the sidewalk, four Black males, aged 19–20 years old, opened fire on the vehicle. Crenshaw and Lovenburg were both struck with bullets. A third passenger in the rear seat was uninjured.

Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and transported the victims to local hospitals where they were pronounced dead.

The motive for this shooting is currently unkown.

The suspects and weapon remain outstanding.
