Sobriety Checkpoint Scheduled in the Southern Area of Los Angels

"Sobriety Checkpoint Scheduled in the Southern Area of Los Angeles"

WHEN:
Saturday, August 28, 2004, from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

WHERE:
Manchester Avenue between Hoover Street and Denker Avenue,
in the Southern Area of Los Angeles

WHO:
Officers from South Traffic Division, 77th Street Division,
Federal Police and Department of Defense

Los Angeles: On Saturday, August 28, 2004, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m., officers from the South Traffic Division of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint. The checkpoint will be located in the Southeast Area on Manchester Avenue between Hoover Street and Denver Avenue. The checkpoint will be set up to screen drivers traveling eastbound on Manchester Avenue.

Approximately thirteen LAPD traffic enforcement officers, six 77th Street patrol officers, six Federal Police officers, and officers from the Department of Defense will join together to conduct the sobriety checkpoint in effort to reduce injuries, death and property damage associated with intoxicated drivers.
