Woman Returns Home and Shoots Burglar

Los Angeles:  On Tuesday, August 23, 2005, around 8:30 a.m., Mary Ann Talley, a 59-year-old Los Angeles resident, returned home from her daily walk.  When she entered her house, located in the 1500 block of 92nd Street, a male Black, approximately 15 years old, was burglarizing her home and confronted her with a tire iron.  In fear for her life, Ms. Talley shot the subject with a handgun that she kept for personal protection.

The subject was taken to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition.  The victim, Mary Ann Talley, was not injured during the incident.
