Liquor Store Robbery Captured on Video NR11231lpk

Los Angeles:  Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying three suspects seen on video during a robbery.
On April 10, 2011, at 10:30 p.m., three men entered a liquor store near the 6000 block of South Avalon Boulevard in South Los Angeles.  Two of the suspects walked to the rear of the market as the gunman remained near the cash register and pointed a semi-automatic handgun at the cashier.  One of the suspects then climbed over the counter, pushed the cashier out of the way and removed money from the register.  The remaining suspect ordered another employee to the ground and searched his pockets during the robbery.  The suspects then left with an undisclosed amount of money.  Detectives believe the three suspects have committed several other robberies.

Video of the robbery can be seen at lapdtv.org

The suspects were described as African American men in their early twenties.  Suspect one was described as 5 feet eight inches tall and 170 pounds.  The second suspect was described as 6 feet tall and weighing 170 pounds.  The third suspect was listed at 5 feet 7 inches and 160 pounds.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call Newton Area Robbery Detectives Chris Marsden or Guillermo Medina at 323-846-6572.  During non-business hours or on weekends calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7.  Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).  Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone. All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.” Tipsters may also go to LAPDOnline.org, click on "webtips" and follow the prompts.
