Hollywood Agent Arrest for ADW

Tuesday, December 7, 1999
On Monday, December 6, 1999, at 10:00 P.M., an assault with a deadly weapon occurred at the residence of Jay Bernstein, a Hollywood agent, in the 9300 block of Beverly Crest in West Los Angeles. During the incident, Bernstein is alleged to have struck a twenty-nine year old male victim in the head with a hard object as the result of a domestic related dispute. The victim sustained a minor injury for which he received sutures at Cedar Sinai Hospital prior to being released.
Bernstein was taken into custody without incident and booked at Van Nuys Jail for a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, after which he was released on $20,000.00 bail.
West Los Angeles Area Detectives are handling the investigation.
