Police in Search of Serial Rapist

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT

Thursday, February 25, 1999

The Los Angeles Police Department, Robbery Homicide Division, Rape Special Section is investigating a series of sexual assaults that have occurred in the Venice and Palms area of Los Angeles. These attacks appear to be connected to a series of prowlings, burglaries and a sexual assault that occurred in the City of Santa Monica between December 21, 1998 and January 6, 1999.

All of the sexual assaults have occurred inside of an apartment or a single family residence. The suspect has entered each residence through an open/unlocked door or window. In each of the cases, the female victim was alone in the residence. pacific_rapist_.jpg (14074 bytes)

The suspect is described as a male, Black, 17-28 years old, 5'7-5'10, clean cut short hair, with medium complexion, sometimes wearing a baseball cap and carrying a dark packback.

The suspect has been seen riding a light colored bicycle and and has been on foot in the area before and after the commission of the crimes. When questioned by residents in the area, the suspect has given several different excuses or reasons for being at the location.
